Red Rocks Climbing

The Graduate (5.10)

Location of Climb: Willow Spring
Aspect of Face: East
Time Category: Single Pitch

Intro

A nice warm-up for this climb is Walk To School (5.7), which follows the vertical crack to the left (south) of the corner in which the Graduate is located, exiting right along a sloping ledge to an anchor shared with the Graduate. For the most part, the Graduate is characterized by positive holds and good rests, making the climb more intimidating than difficult.

Climb

Climb the steep right-face corner, exiting left just below the roof, continuing up over easy moves to the anchor shared with Walk To School. The crux of the climb for me was just below the climber in the photo. It's an awkward move through an overhanging offwidth, with poor footholds.

Gear

Two or three #2 Camalots, and one #3 Camalot should be sufficient to protect the hardest moves.
